Professional Experience
Senior Director of Program Development - The Renaissance Center - Dickson, TN (2000-2003)
- Created Renaissance Technology Solutions, a computer training division within The Renaissance Center. First year sales grossed over $75,000. Through the first four months of 2003, current gross sales are $57,466 reflecting an increase of over 58% from 2002. Currently on pace to generate surplus revenue in 2003 in only our second full year of business. Success has come through relationship building on an individual student and client basis.
- Developed a database of over 800 past and present students, prospects, and corporate clients. Practiced targeted marketing to our database and utilized personal communication several times annually to each of our 140 corporate clients and prospects. Advised each of our students personally in order to help them achieve their education and career goals through computer skills training and certification preparation.
- Applied for and received status as a Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center. Created a business plan; requisitioned computer hardware, software, and other business equipment; located and secured contract instructors and full-time staff necessary to accommodate all class offerings; created and maintained an annual class schedule of over 60 classes with more than 180 individual class occurrences ranging from beginning level workshops to high-end technical training classes. Approved and maintained 12 new programs with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Achieved approval for all professional-development training classes through Veterans Affairs and the Workforce Investment Act.
- Created and organized Dickson County Job Fair, an annual career and job fair held at the Renaissance Center in August of 2002. Over 600 attendees came to engage in active discussion and information sharing with the 17 professional presenting organizations. Dickson County Job Fair 2003 has 23 registered presenters and will likely surpass 2002 attendance numbers.
Director of Performing Arts - The Renaissance Center - Dickson, TN (1998-2000)
- Developed curriculum, located and secured staff members, and managed the day-to-day operations of the Music and Drama departments within The Renaissance Center. Booked outside touring artists for performance in the Center’s Performing Arts Theatre.
- Secured grant funding through the Tennessee Arts Commission for an outreach program for young school-aged children. This Youth Theatrical Outreach Program is still ongoing and to date has served over 500 school-aged children in a confidence building activity that culminates in live theatrical performances at The Renaissance Center.
- Conceptualized, created, and maintained the Gaslight Dinner Theatre, a weekly dinner theatre activity that generated over $100,000 in gross ticket sales in 2002. The Gaslight Dinner Theatre continues to operate to this day with close to 100 performances expected in 2003.
Adjunct Instructor of Voice - Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary - Cincinnati, OH (1994-1997)
- Taught private voice lessons for music majors and minors, taught group voice classes for beginning voice majors, held weekly studio classes, and planned and participated in staged works each semester.
